Fraser Ross, a design studio based in Glasgow, Scotland, has just launched an exciting new project by the name of Dark Senses. The project is the exploration of a magnetic fluid that behaves as a receptor to external environmental stimuli in its solid form. This fluid can be interacted with through magnets and creates very interesting visuals. This open-ended discovery is currently given an artistic angle until substantial uses are to be initiated with it.
"The project explores the possibility of futuristic wearable textiles through the creation of magnetic surfaces embellished with magnetic fluids, creating an ever-changing, sensory silhouette" explains Fraser Ross. I can easily see it being quickly adopted by movie sets and marketers with creative ideas.
The material has been created with ferrofluid, neodymium magnets, water, propanol, glass, brass and a fan.
